Thomas Cook reports that 2017 was a milestone year in the way they approach sustainability and they have launched a new three-year strategy.
The Chief Executive describes it:
"Entitled ‘making a difference with every holiday’, the strategy links all of our sustainability activities to the three stages of a customer’s engagement with Thomas Cook: At Home, The Journey, and On Holiday. Our aim is to ensure we are working at every step to limit the impact our business has on the environment while maximising the social and economic benefits travel can bring.
‘At Home’ seeks to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we live and work through our charitable and community programmes; ‘The Journey’ strives to reduce our impact on the environment, with a particular focus on the fuel efficiency of our Group Airline; and ‘On Holiday’ seeks to embed a more sustainable way of working in our operations abroad to deliver world-class quality products and services."
Their "vision is to be the most loved holiday company, delighting [their] customers, employees and shareholders." As the company the trust of their stakeholders is key.
