Why Responsible Tourism makes commercial sense Weds 22 April – 18:30-19:30
Responsible Tourism is about making better places for people to live in and better places for people to visit. Many consumers, businesses and destinations are increasingly aware of the economic, social and environmental issues, which arise from tourism. Your panel, which includes two international Responsible Tourism award winners, will talk about why Responsible Tourism matters and about why it makes business sense.

Resource Efficiency: Good for the Environment and the Bottom Line Thurs 23 April – 12:30-13:30 pm
Resource efficiency cuts costs and improves the bottom line, as well as being good for the environment. The panellists will share their experience of reducing the carbon and water intensity of their businesses and at the financial and environmental benefits of doing so.

Tourism and Social Responsibility Fri 24 April – 12:30 pm
Tourism has significant positive and negative social impacts, the potential to do good and harm. Your panellists will reflect on the contribution of tourism to making better places for people to live in and to minimising negative impacts. We’ll be considering volunteer tourism, community-based tourism, child protection, the sensitivities of tourists visiting indigenous tribes and the role the tourism industry can play in protecting vulnerable young people through vocational training for employment.
